Arsenal Sweat Fresh Injury Concern As First Team Star Left Out Of Atalanta Trip

Arsenal sweat fresh injury concern as first-team star left out of Atalanta trip

Mikel Arteta could be without another key player for Arsenal's trip to Atalanta after Takehiro Tomiyasu was left out of the squad that travelled to Italy.

The right-back has been a key player for Arsenal this season, but he has been struggling with a calf injury in recent weeks.

Tomiyasu missed Arsenal's last two Premier League games against Brentford and Wolves, and he was not included in the squad that travelled to Italy for Thursday's Europa League clash with Atalanta.

The news is a blow for Arteta, who is already without a number of first-team players due to injury.

Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe, Mohamed Elneny and Reiss Nelson are all currently sidelined, and Arteta will be hoping that Tomiyasu's injury is not a serious one.

If Tomiyasu is ruled out of the Atalanta game, Cedric Soares is likely to start at right-back.

The Portuguese defender has been in good form for Arsenal in recent weeks, and he will be looking to keep his place in the team.

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, and they will be looking to maintain their lead when they face Atalanta on Thursday.

The Gunners will be confident of getting a result against the Italian side, but they will need to be at their best if they are to win.
